Innsbruck Golden Roof
From 1420 to 1460 this building was used as a residence of the Tyrolean Prince Frederick IV of Sigmund Rich in Coin. Covered with 2657 fire-gilded copper tiles and magnificent blue glass, the roof was city symbol under Emperor Maximilian I. According to the inscription it was built by Niclas Türing Elder in 1500. The frescoes were added by Maximilian’s court painter Jörg Kölderer.
